Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Morgan.
Tyler, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Who I am and where I am today is richly connected to the foundation cultivated during my adolescent years on this Earth. Being raised by predominantly fierce women in Southern California provided me with a concrete baseline of courage, love, and, respect. It set me up to freely explore and confidently learn to claim who I am.
I was granted the gift of spending my college years at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. My first rebirth took place in this enchanting and raw city. While studying photography, the seeds of my artistry were planted. My connection to honoring our natural resources was awakened. And my fascination with people and our commonalities began to guide my creative process.
After college, the dancer within was reawakened in the vivacious and historic city of Oakland, CA. I grew up dancing, but I was granted the gift of deepening my relationship with movement in this liberating city. I realized how vital, intuitive, and healing it is to it my spirit; which is something many can beautifully relate to. Through the wonderful people I spent time with while living here, I truly felt a sense of support and community. Something that only felt familiar in relation to my family. The Bay Area helped birth a broader sense of my truest values.
Each city, I immersed myself into has shed light on and brought out different aspects of my authentic essences.
Today, I am living in Dallas, being closer to my immediate family has helped gain clarity of my roots and my participation in the collective energy of the universe.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My road thus far has been an evolving and swirling wave of highs, mundaneness, and lows. It’s a huge practice of mine to be grateful for it all. They are all experiences that have been quite some lessons!
New York and Oakland are two of the most expensive cities in the US, living there was for sure a constant hustle. But I look back with such gratitude for they exposed me to my capabilities.
Transitioning into motherhood was an abrupt and bumpy road. It’s been a struggle because as your child rapidly breezes through their growth, we as mothers advance and grow as well. I feel like there’s not much talk and cultural attention on this and ways to support mothers. This new role has also beautifully assisted in the evolution and expansion of my brand and product line. While motherhood has so many avenues it graciously opened up a new amount of creativity. I’m still in the early stages. I may have birthed my daughter, but our relationship will continuously help us grow and I’m excited about that!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Blu Waves Wellness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My business is called Blu Waves Wellness. I create personal care centered products and sacred spaces that merge emotions, mindfulness, and wellness. It was created out of the desire to cultivate more intention. Possessing intention when relating to my body and atmosphere. Existing in this space has passionately inspired me to share it with others.
This brand is a creative form of alchemy that was fervently awakened in my spirit succeeding the transition of my great grandmother. Most of the elders in my family are on some type of medication and have been diagnosed with dis-ease. Sharing preventative ways to nourish and tend to one’s physical, emotional, and mental body is a key mission of Blu Waves Wellness. My product line began with creating candles; they lit the way and guided me towards creating plant-based body care items and products for the atmosphere. From essential oil and herbal based body oils such as Roots of Love to the Herbal Heating Aid… these intentionally concocted creations will continue to develop as I grew closer to my truest self and the Earth.
My most loved creations are the Love Potion Body Oil and the uniquely customizable candles. They set me apart because I repurpose containers so rarely are there two candles ever alike in my current collections!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m excited to launch Bluwaveswellness.com in the fall of this year. Most people know me for my photography work so it will be exciting to share this other important side of myself with my online and nationwide community.
I co-host monthly divine gatherings with the fellow lovely ladies of Her Majesty Divine Gatherings; a collective of multi-talented artists that pour out loving and healing energy through sharing sacred space for women to honor themselves and reclaim their royalty.
I will also be continuing my Motherhood Summit gatherings. It’s a liberating space for mothers to gather, feel supported and release tension, through movement, yummy food, and discussions.
