Since middle school, I’ve been in leadership positions and have been a voice for the international community in Oklahoma City. In 2004, I was the youth leader in the Nigerian Association of Community leaders of Oklahoma State. Along with this, I was a member of the Oklahoma City Youth Council. This allowed me to volunteer and participate in civic duties in the community.
In college, I was the president of the Nigerian Student Association, member of the International Student Association, Model United Nations, French club, and Young Democrats. From there, I started carving my niche and developing skills in customer service, brand strategy and public relations.
In 2008, I launched my company “Ovacom Media” which is an international public relations, branding, and events company. The focus of Ovacom Media is to bridge the gap between USA-African business relations. Since I launched Ovacom Media, it’s been a journey. I have learned a lot as an entrepreneur. It’s definitely not for the weak. While expanding I relocated to Dallas in 2012. It’s been a life-changing experience which strengthened me.
In my journey, I’m happy to say that Ovacom Media has made me a better person and has opened doors for me, in terms of connecting with political, social, religious and entertainment figures globally.
Has it been a smooth road?
I can say it’s been a bit of both. One thing I’ve learned is no matter the situation, always be professional and have integrity. Lastly, make sure you have a strong team that supports you.

The diversity in Dallas is amazing and really opens doors for the creative industry. I wish we had more international trade opportunities in the city.
