Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Herridge.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Essentially, our singer Eric Knighton and I, who are the only remaining original members, had been wanting to play music together for several years but were mired in other projects, but then we got together with Daniel Brown, Dallas Mcfaul, and Joe Martinez and started Brave Days.
We were living in Abilene, TX at the time.
At one point, Eric and I decided to move to Dallas to expand out of the opportunities in Abilene for music, which, sadly, are minimal.
At that point, Mcfaul, Brown, and Martinez took their departure.
As Eric and I transitioned to living in DFW, we teamed up with Mason Croney, Chris Knox, and Danny Laake.
Ever since we’ve hit the ground running playing shows and we’re in the studio working on an EP, due out after the first of the year.
Brave Days is
Eric Knighton – lead vocals
Danny Laake – guitar/vocals
Will Herridge – guitar/vocals
Chris Knox – bass
Mason Croney – drums
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh, Lord, no.
Moving to Dallas was rough, and finding the right musicians is always a chore.
Just as well, on the financial end, it’s never easy. Local shows don’t pay much, if at all (not that we care. We knew what we got into), and recording, touring, and promotion aren’t free either.
Please tell us about Brave Days.
We specialize in a more aggressive style of (pop) punk mixed with melodic and post hardcore.
We’re definitely proud of our live show. A lot of bands these days just stand there and play. We prefer to have the mindset of “If we’re not sore the next morning or at least one of us got a minor injury, we didn’t play hard enough.” We say it as a joke but it’s kind of not.
We’ve opened up for bands such as The Dangerous Summer, Can’t Swim, Quiet Company, Rival Choir, Levi The Poet, Calling All Captains, Keyoung, Homesafe, Have Mercy, and many more!
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t necessarily believe in luck. Things happen, and God’s been good to us, but luck isn’t much of a thing.
