Founded in 2010, KITCHENWARES ON THE SQUARE is kind of a kitchen Mecca… located in Historic downtown McKinney, Texas. Foodies and chefs have kindly included our store as a destination location housing some of the most popular name brands. Our store carries a complete line of the popular “every occasion” Nora Fleming serving ware and charms. For the baker… Nordic Ware is a must.
Every chef starts off with a great knife, and we carry a robust line of Wusthof, Messermeister, Myobi, and Zwilling Henkel knives. Peppered throughout are kitchen paraphernalia/gadgets of every kind along with entertaining appetizers, specialty cold pressed oils, vinegar, jams, and BBQ seasonings sure to impress. Buried in the back of the store, is a spacious cooking class studio for those looking to sharpen their culinary skills or just have a fun new experience in the kitchen with friends.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We are always looking for new ideas to bring groups together and offer activities on the square for couples, friends and individuals. So this year, we are introducing our first series of cooking classes with a twist – Dinner and a Movie. This Valentine’s Day we are premiering the movie GREASE. Participants dress up in 50’s attire, listen to great music during the class while the movie is playing onscreen silently in the back.

I am the store lead and work closely with the owner to help manage the day-to-day, communications, sales and new programs. We are a fun group offering a very unique variety of Kitchenware and cooking class themes unlike anyone else around.
