At that point, life was hectic with two little kids at home and managing a fine dining dinner restaurant did not work with the other priorities in my life. Over the next several years, I shifted to doing meaningful work that was more flexible, including opening a from scratch catering service for new moms and families with special needs and food insensitivities, working as an in-home chef for a billionaire family, contract conference planning at convention centers and hotels in major metropolitan areas across the U.S., and various restaurant management roles. I started in the kitchen was only 15 years old and I have been there for five years now and have perfected dishes along with certain culinary techniques. I believe what I do is special and does not need academic education to learn these things. I first found my love for my family and cookout almost every weekend. My dad and Chef were really good friends and I was able to have opportunity to work in the kitchen, I’m currently in. I didn’t start off as a dishwasher like most people, but I sure didn’t have it easy. Read More>>

During those shows I’d have the opportunity to make connections with designers, and photographers which then opened the door for me to shoot commercially a lot more. One fashion show, I had just gotten off the runway, a designer who I’ve never met before needed an extra model to wear her swim suit. She grabbed me last minute, I tried it on and it fit like a glove. From then on me and her acquired a 9 year relationship and friendship modeling for one of Dallas’ most known swimwear brands, Asherah swimwear! I’ve gotten to travel out of the country several times on campaigns to shoot with her brand and shoot with other brands along the way. Read More>>

To surprise Cathy, Stacy made prints of some of her favorite pieces of her mom’s and worked with two Dallas businesses to carry the pieces. Cathy had no idea that a simple birthday shopping trip would result in seeing her very own works of art adorning Kettle Art Gallery in Deep Ellum and Talulah & Hess in Lakewood. This fun surprise launched the start of a fun adventure making art for bigger projects – commissions, residential installations, gallery showings, and charitable donations. Cathy has a whimsical abstract style and enjoys experimenting with new techniques. Cathy’s art ranges from large scale paintings to small, intricate collages. Read More>>

My husband and I, along with close friends, Tim & Jett, even started a weekly “Name That Tune” series, connecting with people across the U.S. and abroad. I also shared TikTok with my 82-year-old father at the time, and we created videos together before he passed. As my following grew, I brought my initially hesitant husband on board, and soon, brands began reaching out for collaborations. Now, I get approached by 10-30 brands a week, and I choose partnerships based on how the products can benefit me, my family, or my followers. It’s been a journey of doing what I love and just like the old adage “do what you love and the money will come”. Read More>>

I’m the firstborn to two teenage parents—my mom was 14 and my dad was 16—who defied the odds and broke generational barriers. As Black teenage parents, they shattered the statistics of what was expected of them. My mom was a resilient, multi-gifted woman, and my dad was known for his fiery spirit and loving heart. Growing up as the only girl and oldest of my two brothers, I became the family’s go-to counselor, soother, and peacemaker. In many ways, I felt like I grew up alongside my parents. Read More>>

I started first making deep conditioner. I wanted something that not only could moisture your hair but a conditioner that would promote healthy hair growth. After seeing how my deep conditioner grew out my son’s hair I started researching ingredients for a hair oil. 2022 is when I started making hair oil. At first I only used it on my son’s and my hair but then my clients wanted me to use it on them. Then I had clients that wanted to buy my oil. If God would have told me that my life would be like this, I wouldn’t believe him. I would never imagine making and selling my own products and doing what I love to do and that’s doing hair.
