I got my start at the first sound of music. It did something to my soul I couldn’t explain. I became obsessed with how all of these different sounds came together to make this masterpiece we so commonly call a song lol. Who would I be, how do I go about carving out my sound? And so I started out like a lot of people and I copied my favorite producers in the beginning. Its the saying, “Don’t try to reinvent the wheel.” But as a producer your sound is just that, reinventing things to make something unique and stands out from the rest. Read More>>

To be completely honest, no. I was a bit nervous to invest money on a few courses to get certified when I was not even sure if I would be good. Practicing would also make me nervous and I wanted to give up. The thought of working with blood and peoples skin alright a more permanent level was scary. It was no longer just blush, lipstick, and lashes anymore. It was needles, numbing cream, and blood. Read More>>

This meant that from the time I was born, I was spending time in my dad’s stores, even attending my first fashion show at six months of age. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to work in fashion, with the end goal of operating my own clothing boutique. One design seminar at SCAD and many fights with the sewing machine later, I decided to forgo design and pursue the direction of merchandising and styling. Summer jobs throughout high school had already given me many experiences as a “Professional Sales Associate”. After graduating college, I moved to Dallas to accept a job that would jumpstart my career in fashion. Since then, I have worked in fashion retail across many sectors and business models including private boutiques, department stores, fast fashion power houses, specialty retailers, contemporary designer boutiques, and luxury brands. Read More>>

I believe the biggest challenge for me personally was promoting and marketing my own work. Although I’m a sociable person, when I’m creating alone, the introvert in me takes over, and I might as well be on a space station. I’m happy sharing my work with close friends, which makes self-promotion feel unnatural. This can be a significant obstacle for creatives trying to make a living from their art. Fortunately, there are more tools available now to help people discover your work, but they can still be costly. Ultimately, when progress seems difficult , remember that creating is deeply beneficial for your personal growth. Read More>>

Why I’d love to say my journey has been smooth sailing, it has come with its bumps. When you struggle with imposter syndrome it can weigh you down to a point you have no interest in being creative. From the moment we arrived five years ago, we fell in love with this town. For three years, we held onto the dream of opening our own shop. We were making teas at home for ourselves, testing recipes, and planning out our vision. Before we knew it, we were all addicted. Finally, after months of searching, we stumbled upon our little suite 206, remodeled the space, and six months later, in August 2024, we opened Lakefront Energy. Read More>>

“Hi, my name is Damarcia, but I typically go by Dee. I started following in my mother’s footsteps around the age of 18. I’ve watched her do hair since I was little, so over the years, I naturally picked up the talent. But it wasn’t until high school that I realized I didn’t want to be a physical therapist anymore—that’s when I decided to take hair seriously. After graduating high school in 2020, I started growing a huge following on TikTok and Instagram with my hair content. My goal was to move to Dallas and become even bigger. My mother moved us to Texas for better educational and entertainment opportunities, and that’s where my love for fashion and storytelling really took off. In high school, I was designing and sewing my own clothes, winning “Best Dressed,” and creating costumes for the theater department—all while acting on stage myself. By 14, I had already started my first business, which carried me into college, where I continued acting, dancing, and, of course, designing. I won many awards and kicked started my career as more than a theater actress but in commercials and film as well. Which gave me the idea of my own production business. Read More>>

I don’t think people really “look” at photographs anymore due to social media’s Instantaneousness, which can be frustrating as a photographer. I was stuck in a loop of trying to create what I thought people wanted, rather than what I really wanted to create. It felt like I was constantly second-guessing myself. The feeling of constantly having to stand out on social platforms and create content that goes against the ideas of my own work just to promote my art and acquire more clients has been challenging. Read More>>

As a result, it occurs to me now that my family and community subtly led me to seek out stories in cartoons, mythology, the Bible, music (videos)… EVERYWHERE! I often found myself dissatisfied with the conclusion or the fact that those stories ended. I wrote my versions and, ultimately, my own stories. The end product was handwritten stories, sometimes accompanied by (crude) illustrations on college-rule paper. They were then bound together with twist ties and even included illustrated covers and imprints. Read More>>

Absolutely! My journey as a real estate expert is one of humble beginnings, hard work, and a deep belief that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you finish. I grew up in substandard housing, and I understood from an early age the intrinsic value of real estate — not just as an investment, but as a foundation for opportunity. A safe and welcoming neighborhood isn’t just about where you live; it shapes who you become. And for much of my life, I knew what it was like to live in the absence of that security. Read More>>

LegendaryBangBros was founded and established June 30,2018. I had already had my mind made up as a kid that my career would consist of music. So I have always studied the music business. In college I started making bongs for my friends by recycling liquor bottles, shortly I got a heart disease and had to drop out of engineering school. During the years of recovery I also became hopelessly addicted to drugs particularly opiates. All seemed lost until one day I took a glassblowing class and it revitalized me. Not just the hard stuff I even quit cigarettes to be able to blow glass with less interruption. Unfortunately the authoritarian regime at the local glass college pushed me to make a open minded place for people to discover glass and escape the grips of their reality. Read More>>
