It’s more important to understand someone than to judge them. We think the first step to understanding someone is asking them the fundamental questions about who they are and how they became the person they are today. Understanding and empathy are essential building blocks for a better, more compassionate world. We’re incredibly fortunate to be able to ask these questions each week through our interview series. Below you’ll find inspiring interviews from in and around Dallas.

We discovered that many of our loyal clients were already traveling around 20 miles to access our services, which gave us confidence in our move. However, I must admit, the beginning was a bit rough as it took months for our new location to be ready. But in the end, it was certainly worth the wait. It took us six months of dedicated marketing to connect with the local community, encouraging them to see and book with us in our new home. We’ve truly appreciated everyone’s support throughout this transition. Read more>>

I actually announced last Spring that I would be stepping away from Fashion X and Austin Fashion Week. I’ve been taking on other roles in our family business that were more pressing, so my intent was to sell Fashion X and let someone with a fresh vision lead it. However, after getting a few offers, I just didn’t feel like the industry would be supported in the same way, so I’ve pivoted. We’re currently rallying the powers that be at the City of Austin to hopefully come in as a major partner to support the long-term sustainability of Austin Fashion Week and ensure it’s longevity for the local industry for many, many years to come. All are very different, but all have one thing in common, that is to eat at home. The only way to truly be 100 percent in control of your diet is to cook your food or have an educated professional cook it for you. When you eat out, you have no idea what is happening behind closed doors. While I am not saying one should never dine out and enjoy the fine chefs working in restaurants, I am saying to those suffering from ailments, you have to be in control. Not everyone taking your order or cooking your food is as concerned about your health as you are. Read more>>

This segregation forces reliance on cars and inhibits the creation of vibrant, walkable, and socially connected communities. However, Austin has only recently begun to explore more flexible regulatory options, starting with allowance of smaller residential units and smaller minimum lot sizes. The City is currently discussing allowances for integrating certain commercial uses within residential areas. This shift is exciting because it opens the door to building more socially connected and dynamic environments for people to live, work, and interact in a more integrated and holistic way.
